Port of Hanstholm receives operational and oil waste from vessels calling at the port. Vessels must report and handle waste in accordance with the Port of Hanstholm's waste management plan. For questions, please contact Port Security.
Companies located at the port are obliged to dispose their own waste in a responsible manner. The port basins may NOT be used for waste disposal and the waste containers at the port may only be used for ship waste. An invoice will be sent for the disposal of littered waste.
Port service staff can - for a fee - assist with cleaning up after loading and unloading.
Below are the different waste containers at the port:
- Small container for galley waste
- Large container for galley waste
- Sorting container
- Container for hazardous waste (oil residues, filters, paint, etc.)
Port of Hanstholm has nine basins, some of which are dedicated to fishing vessels and others to cargo vessels. In addition, there are basins that can be used by both fishing vessels and cargo vessels.
The port has seven ISPS facilities, of which six are on/off facilities and one is 24/7.
Below are all the basins and quays at the Port of Hanstholm.
Ships calling the Port of Hanstholm are not subject to pilotage unless they are loaded with dangerous cargo according to the IMDG Code. In addition, tugs are subject to pilotage if the tow is over 50 meters long or 20 meters wide.
The port relates to the applicable rules of the Pilot Act in chapter 3.

The rescue station is located at Fibigers Gade 3 and provides assistance to ships in distress, searches and drowning accidents. The coastal rescue service can also help in other cases - for example, fishing boats with engine problems, yachtsmen running aground, patient evacuations from ships and police transportation at sea.
The Coastal Rescue Service in Denmark is under the Ministry of Defense, and sea rescue operations are led and coordinated by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in Karup.
The rescue station in Hanstholm has the lifeboat C.B.Claudi, a fast open lifeboat, a rubber dinghy and a rescue vehicle.

Nordshipping can handle all the practicalities of customs and port registration, loading and unloading, clearance, etc.

Hanstholm Stevedore offers a wide range of terminal services such as ship call assistance, transshipment or cargo storage for all types of vessels.
In addition, we offer warehouse management and dispatch of freight shipments.
Cargo can be handled by forklift, truck, crane and conveyor belt.
Hanstholm Port's BIP (Border Inspection Point) is located on the Auction Quay with direct connection to a Lineage cold store.
The BIP center is used to control food imports from third countries.
There is direct access for cargo to the center from Quay 17 and 18/81.

At Port of Hanstholm, box washing is managed by Hanstholm Fishermen's Association in collaboration with Pack & Sea, which delivers empty and cleaned fish boxes quickly and efficiently after unloading.
Using an integrated tracking system of rented fish boxes, invoicing is easily handled by Pack & Sea via their administration, which is located at Port of Hanstholm.
In addition to a collaboration between ten Danish ports, Pack & Sea has set up collection centers in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, Scotland and France to clean and deliver boxes to all ports involved.
The green fish boxes, which are Pack & Sea's hallmark, are recycled for new catch after efficient cleaning. The crate laundry in Hanstholm has a capacity of 400-500 crates and 20 tubs per hour and is centrally located at the port with direct access to the auction basins. It is also possible to store fish crates and tubs in Pack and Sea's warehouses at Port of Hanstholm.
Pack & Sea also handles fish boxes and tubs for foreign shipping companies.
