The Port of Hanstholm is one of Denmark's largest fishing ports and a leader in the market for fish for consumption. 

At the heart of the port is Hanstholm Fish Auction – one of Europe’s leading fish auctions – with an impressive annual turnover of approximately 40,000 tons of fish. Surrounding the auction is a strong ecosystem of businesses within fish processing, export, and a wide range of maritime services.

Offshore

For a number of years, Port of Hanstholm has served as a port of entry and exit for wind turbine parts for the world's largest wind turbines in the National Test Center for Large Wind Turbines in Østerild. the port holds great potential for offshore wind and is working hard to develop its facilities for marshalling and create a powerhouse for O&M.

The Port of Hanstholm has great green potential and is committed to renewable energy. Optimal wind conditions make the area suitable for wind energy, and the direct connection to the North Sea makes the port a potentially important player for CO2 management and storage in coastal areas. 

Thisted Municipality has designated an area at the Port of Hanstholm as an energy zone that can contribute to the port's goal of becoming a green port. Energy zones create space for the green energy technologies of the future and the associated secondary industry, so that the green transition can move into Thy for the benefit of citizens, businesses and industries.

The Port of Hanstholm is home to a wide range of service companies that together ensure an experienced and competitive service port. Around 40 companies are part of the Hanstholm Maritime Service Network.

Hanstholm Maritime Service Network provides a common entrance to the many service companies in and around Port of Hanstholm, which offer a wide range of specialties within maintenance, repair and conversion of vessels.
