To an increasing extent, the market is in demand of facilities to handle bigger and heavier types of cargo. At the ports in Fredericia and Nyborg, ADP has together with the shipping companies, years of experience in handling of oversized cargo.
Effecient cargo terminal
Our quays are designed for handling large and heavy project cargo. The Port of Fredericia operates six luffing cranes and four mobile cranes, and with a lifting capacity of each 125 tonnes the customers benefit from high efficiency in handling all sizes of cargo ships and cargo types.
Large open areas
The Port of Nyborg has around 359,460 m² of open area right next to 11 metres of water, making the port ideal for large projects and project cargoes requiring a lot of space. Moreover, the Port of Nyborg houses northern Europe’s most modern facilities for the handling of steel coils and has in recent years, gained considerable expertise as an assembly and shipping port for large offshore wind turbine projects.
Being located only one kilometre from the motorway E20, the Port of Nyborg has an optimal location in relation to the efficient distribution of the goods.
The world's first offshore wind farm at the Port of Nyborg
At the Port of Nyborg we have good experiences with handling large wind turbine projects, and we are therefore happy to be part of the demolition of the world's first offshore wind farm Vindeby. Oersted A/S has in March and April been responsible for the demolition of a total of 11 offshore wind turbines.
The Port of Nyborg is well suited for this type of project cargo, because the port has large open areas, optimal sailing conditions and a central location with direct access to the E20 motorway.
